Rare woods, minerals, rubber, sugar cane, coffee, the Amazon has exported it all. Today, cattle and soy is the new gold, but açaí, surrounded by an insatiable passion and a strong cultural background, may be an exception in the pillage of world’s largest rainforest. The film follows the people living around this plant in the state of Pará, Brasil, as the traditional fruit is at the brink of becoming a globalised product.
